<Apart from horrific nightmares, the majority of my most memorable dreams seem to be bizarre events combined with some creepy elements. I would not call this dream a nightmare, but it was unsettling. Creepy and weird- these two words can be used to describe most of my dreams, especially this one!>
Michael (my boyfriend) and I went to watch the Super Bowl Together (Super Bowl XLIX between the Patriots and the Seahawks). I pretended to be a photographer so that we could get into the VIP seats. I remember cheering super loudly for the Seahawks and being very excited about the game. <Here the dream cuts to after the game> Michael and I walk away from the stadium when we see a van full of sports jerseys from both teams. I wanted one, so we approached the van. As we got close we heard this man talking about an archaeological dig he is doing in town. We heard him say that he is going to leave his golden watch as an offering to the pharaoh he hopes to uncover. <The dream cuts to me babysitting a little girl named Emily. We are at the tennis center that is in my hometown in real life. We are in the indoor tennis courts, but all of the courts have been flooded to make the entire inside a giant swimming pool> Emily and I are swimming around the giant pool when she tells me about this thing that visits her at night when she is trying to sleep and that it scares her. I kept asking her who it is that is visiting her but she wouldn't tell me. This older lady (who I understood to be another caretaker of Emily's) told me to dismiss Emily's "crazy stories." She pulled me aside away from Emily to show me an old book she had. Somehow I knew that it was the "Book of the Dead." We open it up and inside we see a picture of the pharaoh's tomb that the man from earlier wanted to find. In the picture I could also see the golden watch that the man from earlier wanted to leave as an offering to the pharaoh. The old woman and I become uneasy about the image. Suddenly fiery words appeared on the page, and a deep, evil voice began to recite the words as a poem that ended with the phrase, "His eyes are red, his mouth is green, and he is the scariest thing you've ever seen." The book then became enveloped by black vines and decayed right in the old woman's hands. She dropped the book in horror and we tried to run for the exit. I saw the woman look behind her back, then heard her scream bloody murder. She leapt in front of me to grab the door but she ended up smacking into the door and knocking herself out. I quickly scrambled out of the building and ended up in a golden, sunny pasture. It was absolutely beautiful and for a second I felt at peace. I had the idea to try to find a road up ahead, as I figured the monster wouldn't go after me if I was in a more public setting. I saw a road way off in the distance, so I sprinted through the tall grass in the pasture toward it. I looked back and saw a huge mummy running towards me! It surprised me, which caused me to stumble then fall down. I tried to conceal myself in the tall grass, hoping to hide from the creature. I was feeling terrified and panicked about the mummy until I finally woke up.
<Very creepy, but still not on the same level of some of my more notable nightmares!>
