Michelle: Lambda

I'm a nanny hired in a foreign country. The language/accents sound similar to Swedish (or some kind of Nordic language). I'm being walked around by a man in a lab coat who is telling me about my duties as the new nanny. We are walking in circles around a room picking up notecards depicting my duties. As I pick them up, the contents of the card are read aloud to me by a disembodied female voice. I am in charge of multiple groups of children. My main task is to ensure the children follow a strict bedtime routine to keep them safe from a child-eating demon that plagues the town. The demon is called "Lambda," but he also goes by Palmus or Pallus. As I'm told of him, I get a visual montage of him showing up and stealing children.

He is a tall, thin entity that looks like depictions of Krampus (goat-like with black fur). To keep Lambda away, the children must be tucked into bed by an adult. While doing so, a lullaby must be sung. I am told the children love to harmonize with their caretakers while the lullaby is being sung. This causes me to worry, as I can't sing that well and I sure as hell can't harmonize! Water is also to be avoided at all costs. Lambda can hide in the water and pull children in to drown and eat them. I am warned of a fountain in the middle of town in which he has killed multiple children in the past. My last warning is to never interfere when he has a child, as he will kill and consume any adult that attempts to save the children he takes. When I'm done being read my tasks, I walk outside. It is nighttime already, so I know I need to quickly put the children to bed. I see a little boy and girl standing outside their house. The girl says her mother never showed up from her walk. I am worried that Lambda is hunting. I usher the children inside and say "come now, children, let's get you to bed." I tuck them into bed then try to remember the lullaby. I don't know it well, as it's in a foreign language and was just taught to me, so I try to hide my inexperience by suggesting that the kids sing me a lullaby. The children sing the song and I join in quietly to let them think I know what I'm doing. I'm hoping this is enough to keep Lambda away, then I woke up!
