Marie: Plane crash

I was in Flatwoods visiting my grandmother (Mom) who, in this dream, lived on Beth Ann near Raceland. I said goodbye to her after our visit and left by way of a shortcut through her backyard. It was late fall because the maple and sycamore trees were red and yellow and the air was cool, but for some reason, she had strawberry plants in her backyard that were loaded with gigantic ripe berries. Their size was amazing, so I decided to go home, get a large basket, and return to pick berries.

I got about as far as the public library when I heard a loud plane overhead. I turned and looked over my shoulder to see a large white Alaska Airlines plane that was flying much too low and descending rapidly. I knew that even if pilots were attempting to land at the Worthington airport, the plane was far too large to land there successfully. The nose of the plane turned up sharply and I could hear the engines roar louder. Then, the engines cut out, the plane plummeted nose-down below my line of sight. There was an extremely loud explosion.

The plane crash was horrifying. I looked around to see people across the street and out in the library parking lot filming the disaster with their phones. I was worried that the plane could have crashed near my grandmother’s house. Using my cell phone, I tried to text message her and my phone kept messing up. I then tried calling her, but telemarketers kept intercepting my call. I began hearing sirens. I was so frustrated and distraught that I woke up.
