Elizabeth: Walmart

I was a teenage runaway with no home to return to. I had no money, no home, and no food. Walking around the Walmart in the city I had wound up in, I realized that if I ate food in the store, they would have their Loss Prevention Specialist follow me around to document my theft, but they wouldn't try to arrest me unless I left the store. Walmart has everything, I could practically live here as long as I never leave! Not the worst option available for a runaway. To hide some of my theft, I would grab a piece of produce, eat a little bit, and then set it down as if I had changed my mind.

I strolled through the store and entered the garden section. Through the garden section I came upon an outdoor area covered in snow and ice. Amidst the snow was a liquid pool, which I thought was peculiar since everything around was frozen. I felt the water and it was warm - I realized it was a natural hot spring! I swam in the warm water and invited other customers to join me. I realized that it was a real attraction!

Someone shared my enthusiasm for the hot spring on social media and Elon Musk donated some money to help me start a business out of the Walmart - a hot spring spa! My business was wildly successful.

Due to my success at overcoming the odds, a ribbon cutting is held for my business. Everyone from "The Company" comes. The Company is the entity I work for in reality. My boss is there and we all get together and pose for a photo. She has brought a little green parrot, which is the logo for The Company. The bird is perched inside of a large oil lamp (with some oil in it). She asks me to take the bird out and hold it for the photo. I clasp two hands around its body, pinning its wings down.

Later, at home, I discover the oil lamp, broken, in my garage. I am mildly concerned about fire, since the wick is lit, but I am most concerned that the bird has flown away. I am running towards the house to put a message on Facebook about a lost parrot when I find the bird perched on the porch with its foot somehow stuck. That was lucky! I pick up the bird and bring it inside to find some container for it.
