Elizabeth: Oh, Grandmother!

I walked into my grandmother's house and saw my cousin RS sitting in the chair by the door and my cousin TB sitting on the couch in front of the window. Reality was presenting itself in multiple visual ways at the same time:

- In one presentation, my grandmother was about 13. She had dark, bobbed, wavy hair and she was up to no good. She was annoyed at being kept in the house and wanted to get out and run around the neighborhood. It was up to my cousins and I to keep her in.

- In another presentation, Grandmother was mentally around 2 or 3, but physically just as she is, only maybe smaller. She was sitting on TB's lap front ways, the way an exhausted little girl would do, and she was sobbing. TB was patting her back and had tears in his eyes. We made eye contact and wordlessly communicated how suddenly this had happened and how sad we were. I sat next to him and put my head on his other shoulder and patted her back too, to comfort her and support him.
