I had a luxurious sleep, almost twelve hours. The dream was in really distinct, unrelated segments. Today was a snow day so I was able to sleep the maximum amount.
Ice: I was in Marie's neighborhood and needed to get to the house. It had been snowing and the road going straight to the house was pretty clear, but for some reason I was going around the long way. When I got to the low bit the road was completely covered in ice, but I kept going. Going up the hill near the church was almost impossible. At that point, I was watching mind videos of other cars trying to get up the hill and slipping all over the place. I made it up the hill and turned the corner to come down the straight stretch when I saw that several trees had fallen down over the road. They were huge, probably 4-5 feet across, and loggers were there to remove them (and try not to damage them too badly because they were valuable). I saw two paramedics carrying someone to an ambulance, so I realized I couldn't go that way. I turned around and went back towards the church, worrying about how I was going to get back through the ice. Slight scene change: I was on foot walking by the church and I saw a laughing face in a bush covered in snow and ice. I realized there were two kids playing. They were both wearing short sleeves and shorts. I was overwhelmingly worried about them. I wished I had my car because I might have had spare clothes inside, but instead I gathered the kids up and we tried to find their mother. She was a young woman with black hair and she was on the phone with someone and appeared unconcerned with the kids. She got off the phone when she saw me and I started gently talking to her about the way her kids were dressed and she got annoyed with me. I offered to buy the kids clothes and she decided to let me. I gave her my phone to put her number in. The kids had been at the church riding horses with an old man. I knew the old man thought the kids were poorly cared for. A coworker from the school was with me and I was hoping that she would contact CPS because there were other signs of neglect. <<It's a snow day, so the ice is obvious. I read an article yesterday about an Olive Garden waitress spotting two abused kids and contacting CPS.>>
Architect: I had a job of designing houses for a TV renovation show. The producer would tell me how many kids were in the family, I would draw a house with colored pencils, and they would make it. My designs weren't great, but I was really cheap to hire. The American version of the show was just about the family and the house never got build. The British version of the show was just about the building of the house. The American one would come out several months earlier. I had just delivered on a house design (that hadn't been built) when the producer gave me a new task. He told me it needed to be 19% bigger than the first house I had designed, with room for 2 boys and a girl. <<I enjoy designing houses, but it's been several years since I drew any. I don't know where this came from.>>
Comedy Contest: I was involved in a comedy contest. Different participants had different improv tasks. They also weren't very funny. One of the tasks was to provide funny narration over top of video of a cheap haunted house. The girl who was giving it kept making all the jokes about Trump and the government, and it seemed like she was reaching and made me uncomfortable for her.
Travel: I was on a tour abroad with a school group. The memories are really scattered, I think this was one of the earlier dreams of the night. I was more of a peer than a leader. The hotel rooms were huge suites. I accidentally invited too many people over to hang out and made my roommates uncomfortable. I was sort-of at Epcot's food festival and was trying to pick out an overpriced cocktail. I ended up ordering a slushie with extra vodka. I was having a good trip. <<Obvious, I'm leaving in a few weeks for an international trip with students.>>
Cows and Family: I was in Ireland, or else Thomas's family was here. We were having a big family get together outside by a highway when we realize that a few of our cows have escaped. Thomas and I run to round them up before they get on the road. Thomas's niece and nephew and with us and running out in the road, so I take charge of them to keep them safe and let Thomas worry about the cows. The entire town and family ends up in the field watching the cows being rounded up and Thomas is embarrassed. <<Obvious, Thomas said goodbye to me while I was sleeping because he was going to check cows.>>
