I walk into a small country store with Marie. It's a little bit dark and cramped. There is a juke box by the door and to the side there are two deep freezers stacked on top of one another. I think that's a bad design, since a person couldn't get into the bottom one. There are some VHS tapes for rent in one area.
I see some little cages and I realize that this is also a pet store. In the cages there are several very cute puppies - mostly small breed dogs and pups.
A shop clerk asks Marie about her children. She replies that she has three black boys. I look at her, a little shocked. She actually has three Caucasian girls. I realize that she's referring to her dogs, which are black. I am surprised again that she would respond with information about her dogs instead of her biological children.
I see more cages with different animals in them. One cage has a miniature donkey the size of a cat. I start to see cages of rabbits - and each cage I see has a bigger rabbit. The largest rabbit is about 35 pounds and is kept in a playpen.
