I was walking down a road to check on my horses and just by one of the gates I saw a curved terracotta dome about the size of my hand. It was snowy outside, but the ground was soft and I started digging at this strange dome. I realized it was an object like a large pot or a wide mouthed vase. When I peered inside I was struck in the face by something, I couldn't figure out what. Inside the pot there were 4 poisonous creatures: a toad, a baby turtle, a small snake, and a lizard. I realized immediately that they had been buried like that just for me so I would be enticed by the mysterious pot, look inside, and be poisoned. I looked around for what had hit me and I saw a larger snake slithering away that had sprung out when I first lifted up the pot. It hadn't bitten me, thank goodness. I put the pot down and walked away. I felt sorry for the animals because I thought they would die in the cold, but I saw some sheets of black plastic nearby and I thought they had a chance to live if they crawled under the plastic.
<The other dreams are much harder to piece together>
There were two forces to be afraid of: a creature or group of creatures that were newly arrived and a government/military force that was trying to quarantine the area and wouldn't let people escape. Throughout the dream, I kept remembering that this was a "Stephen King story", so I was trying to help it develop into something sophisticated. I don't think it ever got there! I was in a rural area. The creature started off as a baby and was getting older and reproducing. Somehow, children were immune to attack, but adults were extremely vulnerable. Adults liked to hide with children as sort of a camouflage, but it put the children at risk. I was trying to find a place to hide and was also being chased by military men who wanted to quarantine me. I remember crawling through a bunch of campers that were parked end to end. breaking glass to crawl from the window of one through to the window of another. I remember finding a child who wanted to help hide me, and they had a small circle of toy hay bales in a barn, and I didn't think that was very safe.
I was on a quest for "Little Ueno (Tokyo)." Several times a year I'm looking for this place. It's always that I'm visiting some city and I know they have a Japanese district, but I usually have a hard time finding it, or I find it once and can't find my way back. I've spent hours in dreams wandering around looking for it, knowing that they have delicious snacks and bright lights.
I was dressed in a period costume and I was talking with a lady named Margaret who works in Old Washington as a costumed character. I wanted to visit one of the many stores in Old Washington that sells historical reproduction goods. (In reality, there are zero). She said she would help me, but she wanted to recruit me to work with her as a character. She told me that she often travels with Simon Kenton and Daniel Boone reenactors as part of their entourage to provide historical context. I liked the idea of dressing up, but I didn't want to have to pretend to be somebody and answer questions from a crowd as if I was that person. As I was considering it, I wondered if I could be a character who was a mute maid so I didn't have to talk to anybody and could be super reserved and awkward. I thought to myself that I didn't know if I would really like to be that character. The rest of the dream was my imagination, it didn't really happen in the dream. I imagined myself dressed up like a maid and going around Old Washington to all the historical buildings cleaning them. I imagined that could be a real job - not just wearing a costume and walking around, but wearing a costume and performing a legitimate job. I thought it would be cool, but then I also thought I would be a real maid and I didn't really want that to be my career.
