Anne: Zombie Field Trip

I am on a school trip during a zombie outbreak. All of us are aware that this is going on, so we take extra precautions. The chaperones blockade the doorways. We are in a shopping mall and utilize the turn-style entrances (see image below).

The gates are padded with a purple foam covering. I think to myself how zombies could easily jump the gate or squeeze through it. I try to remain calm but decide I'll stay up through the night just in case. Robert and a high school friend, HP, are two people that stand out from the crowd. We lay our sleeping bags near each other. I have Tillie with me and am stressed that she's going to get away (why did I bring my cat on a trip???). Robert and I take turns trying to hold her so A) she doesn't escape and B) we can both get some sleep.

HP is in a blue sleeping bag next to me. I see her tossing and turning which alarms a group of girls in the corner near us. I wake HP up to console her. She sits up and looks at me. Her eyes are glazed over similar to the movie Bird Box.

I know she is infected and is going to turn very soon. I wake up Robert and tell him we need to leave before everyone gets infected. Some other classes escape with us. We run into a weapon shop. The walls are lined with guns and there are intricate displays of katanas, knives, and exotic weapons. I see a long sword similar to the sword used by the abyss watchers in Dark Souls 3 (a video game I used to play).

I know it is the perfect weapon. I ask a man in the shop if he knows how to use it. The man is short and has a shaggy beard accompanying shaggy brown hair. I tell him he needs to teach me to use it asap because I haven't even held a sword before. The man sells it to me and agrees. It takes two people to carry it out. Tillie leaps out of Robert's arms as we try to carry this sword out. We drop the sword and chase after her. We find her in a janitor's closet and see her eyes are also glazed over. She is also pregnant. We are upset but know that we need to deliver her baby before it gets infected via vertical transmission. I tell Robert he has to do it since he has delivered babies before. She only has one kitten. It's large; the size of a young cat. It is yellow and also appears to have Down's syndrome.
