Anne: The Unsinkable Ship

I'm on vacation with Marie and Michelle. We're on an extravagant cruise ship. Unfortunately, I have to study and do some work. I head to the bottom floor of the ship to do some work with some classmates. Michelle and Marie head to the upper deck to enjoy the pool and drinks. The bottom floor strangely resembles Bozhi's Gym Nest (my childhood gymnastics gym). There are a set of tables and chairs by the foam pit. There is a single bar over the pit. I am waiting for some former high school classmates JR, KR, and my grad school friend NE to get there. I decide to practice some moves on the bars. I'm a little embarrassed because the gymnastics team is practicing nearby.

I see JR plop down at a nearby table with a giant ultrasound machine and a desktop computer. I'm amazed that he carried that all the way down here by himself. I observe the room and there is an open door by the vault that leads to a lower deck. I find it bizarre that the bottom floor would have a deck considering it's so close to the water. The rest of the group shows up and I ask JR to teach me about the ultrasounds because I'm unfamiliar with them (I'm guessing we have an exam coming up on this???). Suddenly, I hear a loud crash and water begins to seep in through the open space. At first it's only up to our ankles but it begins to rise. The foam pit fills with water and miraculously becomes a clean pool with lights and a diving board.

Everyone panics and makes a run for the stairs. The lights shut off. I hear a meow next to me and understand that Tillie is with me. She jumps into the pool and sinks to the bottom. I cry out "NO!!!" I dive in after her. She doesn't fight me pulling her out of the water (very not like her to be honest). I hold on tightly while she does her classic wailing while trying to escape my arms. I know I need to find Marie and Michelle.

Despite being soaked, my phone still works. I try to call them without letting Tillie out of my arms. I make it to the middle of the ship and water is already covering the floor. There is a woman with a child who reminds me of someone in the early 1900s. She doesn't speak English but I assume she's asking me what to do/what is happening. I point to the stairs and try to tell her to keep going up. More people come up to me. Little of them speak English but they also look straight out of the early 1900s and definitely 3rd class if this was the Titanic. I hear Marie's voice and run to her with tears in my eyes. I tell Marie and Michelle that the ship is sinking and we need to make it to the top because they're putting women and children on life boats. Marie laughs and tells me everything is fine. They were just at the top of the ship and left because it was too crowded.

I show Marie the pool of water is that puddling around us. She tries to assure me that these boats are designed to withstand a little bit of water. Michelle tells me that if I'd be more comfortable going to the top deck, we can go up. The water begins to rise quicker and we sprint up the stairs. At the top, people are just sitting in the lifeboats but no one is going into the water. I see land dead ahead of us and I become relieved knowing that even if the boat sinks, we have a chance of swimming to the beach. Suddenly, we're on land and still going. The boat comes to a sudden halt as it hits a tree. Our captain has saved us!!
