I understand the world has collapsed and the survivors are in the process of rebuilding it. We each have roles. We are on an island surrounded by a large body of water. There is no other land visible in the distance. There is a large, stone castle that is surrounded by a mote in the center of the island. I live in the castle with several other people. Across from the mote is a city with beautiful parks surrounded by walkways, farms, shops, and homes. This place looks blissful!
The castle is for elites only (yay me!). Dumbledore rules over the castle and gives us specific jobs designed for our strengths. I'm in charge of discovering new medicines, illnesses, and the lookout. I don't quite understand what happened to our world in this dream so I'm not 100% what I'm looking out for (I'm assuming invaders??). My job does require me to leave the island. We don't have planes so I must go into the armory to find tools to help me fly away. I see a pair of white angel wings. This will do just fine! I put them on and leap out of the window. I'm soaring!
A boy from my high school, PS, waves over at me from a boat with some other kids from my high school MA and KR, Marie, and Michelle. I get distracted and fall into the water. The group helps me back into the boat and takes me back to the castle. Dumbledore tells me that I'm going to be working with MA and AH on a project in the lab (again, I have not idea what it is but I guess dream me knows what he's talking about). It's very apparent that MA and AH don't get along. I decide to take charge and separate them to optimize our workflow.
The lab is in a field surrounded by little, abandoned, farm homes. They have white paneling on the outside and red roofs. The windows are all broken. I tell AH that she needs to look in the houses for glassware so we can make our necessary solutions. MA and I discuss the next steps. He tells me that Dumbledore is working on something bad. Something that will stop invaders for good. That's why I was put on lookout today. Dumbledore wants to try it out on civilians! I now understand that Dumbledore only wants the elites to survive.
I run back to the castle and into my room. Otis, Marie, and Michelle are all there. I pull Michelle to the side and tell him the secret MA told me. Michelle wants to go to the towns and warn people. I stop her because we don't know what Dumbledore is up to exactly and we don't want to cause a mass panic. I hear a hacking cough down the hallway and approach a large, open room.
The room doesn't have windows at all. There are just open areas in the walls to look down into the mote. In the middle of the room is a twin sized bed with a canopy and red runner rugs leading to small connecting rooms. One of the connecting rooms is small and has a loft bed extending into a small tunnel at the ceiling. There is a TV in the small room. KR is in the main room on the twin bed with blood trickling from her mouth. She begins to projectile vomit and her eyes glaze over kind of like in Stranger Things when Vecna takes over his victims.
Two options run through my head when I yell for help: 1) she has some kind of bug that I've never seen before or 2) she's possessed. Marie comes in to assist. I sit in the small room and watch Harry Potter (really funny now that I think about it since Dumbledore is the ruler of the new world). I keep an eye on KR and the location of the tunnel by the ceiling in case I need to make a run for it. Marie leaves to fetch more water and a doctor. KR looks at me and starts laughing. She tells me she is "the purger." She speaks in a voice that is a mix of her own and someone else's. I understand she is possessed. I wonder if she's infected with something that is controlling her body. She continues to vomit and scream.
I crawl through the tunnel and into the hallway. I run into MA and tell him what I've seen. I tell him that we have to quarantine her. He goes to gather supplies (???) and I rush to Marie. I don't want to scare her with the information so I ask to go on a walk in the town while MA goes to KR's aid. Marie tells me that KR just has a stomach virus while we take a stroll through the park.
I ask Marie if she's been washing her hands and if she's been using bleach based cleaners. Marie tells me I'm overreacting. I can hear KR's screams coming from the castle.
