Robert and I are planning on going to a basketball game at the University of Florida. The stadium is only a 3 hour drive from his apartment but I need to get back to my parents' house in order to get some stuff together. My parents live about 3 hours away from Robert in this dream. When I get to the house, I notice that no one is home except a high school friend ND. He is in my childhood room that has pink walls and a single twin-sized bed (I moved out of this room when I was about 10 into my older sister's room but I think this was still my room in my dream). ND tells me we need to talk and I feel uncomfortable. I don't want Robert to think I came here to see another man! I get several calls from Robert. I answer the one and tell him I will be home soon. He tries to rush me because we do need to get to our game.
ND goes downstairs to talk to Marie who has just arrived home. They laugh as if they have been friends for years. I become annoyed because I only hung out with ND a handful of times and don't understand why they are such good friends. I tell ND he needs to leave in an angry tone. He tells me he doesn't have to, but Marie comes to my defense. She tells him that he cannot talk to her daughter this way (go Mom!).
ND leaves and Robert arrives. I tell him all about what happened and he is understanding. The house looks different now. It is much larger except the upstairs that looks the same. My bedroom is now on the first floor and is empty except for a piano bench and a bunk-bed by the window. There are people everywhere. Michelle, my long-time friend DS, Michelle's boyfriend, an overweight woman with a bob haircut, Otis, and Marie stand out to me. The house shakes and green vines begin to grow up the sides. Marie corrals us and several others into my pink bedroom. She tells us to be quiet and turn off the lights. We hear a whispering voice similar to that of Voldemort's Parseltongue. Robert grabs my hand and leads me into the closet. He helps me onto a shelf and tells me to stay up top until it is safe because this plant monster won't be able to see me. The plant monster tells us that it knows we're in there and begins to list off our "deepest secrets/desires." We find out these aren't true and were a way for the plant monster to pit us against each other (take that!). Against Robert's wishes I come down and lean against the door so the plant creature won't open it. We see vines begin to crawl out from underneath the door. It looks like ivy. I keep my back against the door. The plant monster tries to open it and Robert rushes to hold the door back as well. The vines creep up towards a girl I danced with MR. They crawl into her skin and begin to infest her body.
We make a run for my parents' bedroom. Only Michelle, Robert, and I make it in there. We come up with a plan to sneak downstairs because we can hear people so it must be somewhat safe. I remember the bunk-bed and tell them that we can exit through the window if we climb up on the bunk-bed. Only the strong will survive because the bunk-bed is very high and there are no ladders. We tell the others that we must hurry and make our way to the room.
The overweight woman complains that she won't be able to climb up there. I insist she must try. While she is ranting about all of this, I begin to pack a bag. Robert is concerned that he won't have enough underwear for where we are going. I reassure him that 1) this is the least of our worries right now and 2) we can just buy more when we get to safety. He takes my bag and we climb up the bunk-bed. We see others trying to go with us but we know that will look suspicious. We agree to wait until dusk. I help Michelle on to the top of the bunk-bed. The vines begin to grow and I see the plant monster approaching. I open the window and Robert helps Michelle and me out. He hands me my bag and says he is going to help the others.
