Anne: Go Gators!

My parents, Michelle, and I are at a beach. Everyone is having a good time but I am nervous that I will get a sunburn. Marie always has sunscreen on hand so I check her beach bag. For some reason all she has is tanning oil. I ask her where the sunscreen is and she tells me that I should strive for the perfect tan. I am wearing a yellow one piece (similar to the style below) with pretty flowers.

I am self conscious because I feel like I am showing too much skin especially with how high and rough the waves are at this beach. I decide to head back to the hotel.

The hotel looks just like my parents' house where the hotel rooms are located. We're staying in a room that looks identical to my room at the house except there is bathroom where the closet should be. Michelle arrives to the room shortly after I do. The owner of the hotel informs us that there is a special event being held in the auditorium and that we should attend. I put on a very elegant blue dress.

We make our way to the auditorium. It resembles that of our primary school library except the middle is filled with a large pool of water. The edges are surrounded by a bank with some spot ankle deep with water. I try to stand in the dry spots but the water keeps washing over my ankles. I tell Michelle we need to save room for Marie and Otis. We try to leave a gap but the edges of the room are filled with people. The lights turn off and we know the show is about to start. The show is hosted by my papaw.

I accidentally slip into the water and can't see to swim back towards the banks. I decide it would be safer to swim to the middle platform since I am in very deep water. Also, I am worried about ruining my dress. I see a shadow go past me and I know it to be an alligator. I try to remain still in hopes that it ignores me. It swims up again and tries to bite me in the arm. My papaw yells to me that if I punch it repeatedly it will ignore me. I am worried that it will just become angry and just try to move in the direction it pulls me to avoid more damage. People make fun of me for being so dumb as to swim in the water and I am embarrassed to even make it out. My reputation!

Robert and I fell asleep watching a show that takes place in Florida. The scenes of people swimming stressed me out and both of us couldn't help but wonder why no one was concerned with alligators. Perhaps this translated into my dream somehow.
